Kudos to the creative team here at Kiwi Creative who scored big at yet another design competition. This time, we took home three honors in the 2016 GDUSA American Package Design Awards in the music and entertainment category for our client Shadow Mountain Records.
Confused by all of those crazy acronyms your graphic designer uses? We’re here to translate so you can communicate with confidence the next time he/she tells you “the JPG is CMYK, but it’s still FPO because the DPI isn’t high enough for print.”
Here at Kiwi Creative, we tend to steer clear of most marketing buzzwords. (You won’t hear us wanting to “circle back about that touchpoint by EOD.”) However, in our industry there are some acronyms that you just can’t avoid…and they can sound like a completely foreign language to non-developers.
A BIG congrats to our creative team who took home an astonishing 10 awards in GDUSA’s 2015 American Graphic Design Awards competition. Check out our award-winning design work, below.
Lauren is this semester’s Content Marketing Intern! She is a senior at John Carroll University (one of our favorite clients!) and passionate about social media. We’re having a blast getting to know her, so we gave her a little Q&A.
Football, schmootball. Everyone knows the Super Bowl is all about the commercials, right!? (Er, can you tell I'm not a sports fan?)
It used to be that advertisers would keep their high-budget TV spots under wraps until the big day. But now, much to this digital marketer's delight, brands are realizing the power that comes in building up hype before their commercials air.
If you’re in the marcom industry (and haven’t been living under a rock), you’ve almost certainly heard the term “inbound marketing” or “content marketing” over the past several months. For already overworked marketing managers, this means producing a high volume of stellar content over a long period of time. Blogging, email newsletters, social media, white papers…all of these are crucial platforms for any brand’s content marketing strategy.
So why is a design studio blogging about inbound marketing? Well, besides being big believers in the whole philosophy, we’ve found our li’l niche in the trend: infographic design.
Today’s graphic artists also need to be knowledgeable in website design, marketing and, perhaps most important of all, proofreading. Why? I think this viral example from the Mankato Free Press says it all.
At times it feels like I've been in business for myself for years, but in reality it's only been about a year and a half since I opened the doors at Kiwi Creative. But in those past 18 months, I've had a crash course in small business ownership that would rival any MBA program. And as much as I'd like to think that I had my shit together since day #1, in reality I made more than my fair share of mistakes along the way. The important thing? I learned (and am still learning!) from them.
We've always thought our li'l marketing and design studio in Cleveland was a pretty awesome place to work, but now it's official: Knock Knock has named Kiwi Creative as a runner up in their "Coolest Places to Work" contest!
